May 21, 2025 by Teigan Kelly No Comments | Category Procurement news, Scottish Procurement
We have published our latest annual procurement report which provides an overview of Scottish Government procurement activity during the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
The report demonstrates how we’re delivering procurement policy and capability across the Scottish public sector and the real impact public procurement continues to have in our drive towards a sustainable economy and delivering for the people of Scotland.
The first ever Public Procurement Strategy for Scotland was developed in April 2023 by a cross sectorial working group with representatives from each sector, led by the Scottish Government. We ensure to align fully to the strategy and adhere to the vision of “putting public procurement at the heart of a sustainable economy to maximise value for the people of Scotland”.
We work together with the public, private and third sectors to deliver maximum value through public procurement activity. This report focuses specifically on Scottish Government core activity and national collaborative contracts and frameworks, as well as our procurement policy function, and eProcurement and management information function.

Scottish Government Annual Procurement Report 2023 – 2024.
This report provides an overview of Scottish Government procurement activity during the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
It also shows how we’re leading by example through delivering procurement policy and capability.
We provide contracts and frameworks which are used across the public sector.
In 2023 – 2024 public bodies across Scotland spent over £1.5 billion on goods and services through the national contracts and frameworks we awarded, contributing to the economy and supporting a Once for Scotland approach.
Of the £561 million spent with suppliers, over £299 million went to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
We provide the free platform Public Contracts Scotland, which was used to advertise 12,904 new public sector business opportunities across Scotland. Resulting in 17,310 suppliers being awarded public sector contracts.
As well as supporting existing jobs, our contracts enabled the creation of 867 brand new jobs, 26 apprenticeships, 202 work placements and 2,344 qualifications.
We want procurement to be good for businesses and their employees, good for society, good for places and communities and open and connected.
