Scotland's Economy
Whisky Galore

Our whisky industry is a national success story and makes a huge contribution to Scotland’s economy. Today I visited the distillery and bottling plant of BenRiach – one of Scotland’s leading brands of whisky. The company must be commended for its part in Scotland’s whisky success story.
BenRiach has successfully development its brands over the last few years and established itself as a leading name in the industry. Its whiskies are available in over 30 countries internationally – from Kazakhstan to Vietnam! And with whisky exports up 22% in the first half of the year to £1.8 billion, what’s clear is that there continues to be a real taste for our national drink in new and expanding markets.
